Description

Fine & Country are delighted to present Redston, a spacious 5 bedroom home presented in excellent condition in the ever-popular village of Aldbourne. "Wonderful interiors await at Redston, tucked away in an excellent village centre location. The spacious accommodation offers the ideal space for a family, and with so many amenities including a highly regarded primary school on the doorstep, it's not difficult to see why Aldbourne is so perennially popular with house hunters." Ed Taylor, Director Seller Insight: What is your favourite room of the house and why? This is tricky! We absolutely love the open plan kitchen/diner/sitting room, it's so lovely to be able to be together as a family while everyone is doing something different. You can be in the kitchen but still be part of the action elsewhere! We do also really love the top floor which is our bedroom, it's like a suite and if you need to get away from the chaos it's lovely and peaceful up there! What do you love most about the house and why? We love the way that the garden surrounds the house, with the bifolds open in the summer it's the most wonderful house for entertaining. You also feel like you have another room with the patio and gorgeous raised borders behind it, whilst being nice and tucked away, you hear very little noise apart from the church bells. Who do you think would be the next ideal owner? I think this is an incredibly versatile house and to be honest would suit any one who loves it as much as we do! The space is extremely adaptable and easy to live in, it would be great for a young family like ours or just as wonderful for a couple who like to entertain. The house is in such a great central village location and yet tucked away so many people don't realise it's here! Anyone who likes to live in a bright, open plan living space with a garden that truly surrounds and envelops the house will love it here. What do you love about the local community? This is a wonderful village with a proper village community, it's size is great as we have so many amenities and yet haven't lost that true village feel - there are so many quintessential British events that really do make it such a special place to live, everyone is so friendly and welcoming, whether you are two or ninety-two there is something for everyone! How easy is it to commute from here? This is the most perfect spot to commute from, both Swindon and Hungerford mainline stations are 15mins away (we use both regularly) and you can be in London within an hour, we also commute up to the Midlands with ease fairly regularly. Access to the M4 is super easy and quick so you can be on your way to Devon/Cornwall incredibly easily! We have a son at school in Gloucester and he catches the bus so everywhere is really accessible. What made you choose this property over others that were available at the time? We knew as soon as we walked into this house that it was the one for us, it has such a lovely warm and happy feel about it, we love its location and the potential it had to become our family home. This was a full renovation project for us and we have put a huge amount of thought into making it the best it could be whilst being functional and inviting! PL/2023/10241) Location: Aldbourne is one of the most popular villages in Wiltshire – historic, beautiful, with a thriving community. Many families are drawn to the village for its outstanding primary school and nearby outstanding secondary school St. John's Academy in Marlborough, as well as leading private schools such as Pinewood, Dauntsey's and Marlborough College. Set in spectacular rolling countryside, there are many footpaths and trails locally to explore, including The Ridgeway national trail which passes nearby. Barbury Castle, an ancient hill fort, provides far-reaching panoramic views of the area. The nearby village of Ramsbury has its own brewery as well as The Bell public house serving excellent food and drink. Just six miles away is the thriving market town of Marlborough, which has a high street packed with boutique shops alongside national retailers such as Waitrose. Regular direct rail services from Hungerford and Swindon to London Paddington are a short drive away, with the fastest services taking around 47 minutes. Junctions 14 and 15 of the M4 are also close at hand.
