Description
A substantial detached family home situated in a very pleasant and leafy residential area, close to the beach, sailing clubs, golf club and village centre.

Believed to date from the 1970's the house has been substantially extended and could easily provide independent annexed accommodation in the extension. The main house has 5 double bedrooms, and the study and office along with the utility room in the annexe could provide comfortable ground floor accommodation for dependent relatives.

The house could benefit from some upgrading but would provide excellent family accommodation in a lovely location.

Hayling Island lies between Chichester and Portsmouth, jutting out into the waters of Portsmouth Harbour. St Catherines Road is one of the most popular locations on the island, close to the golf club on Sinah Common. The island is well known for its excellent sailing facilities including its yacht club and the Marina at Mengham, both of which allow ready access to the waters of the Solent and the Isle of Wight. There are a number of local shops on the island together with schools, churches, restaurants and other leisure facilities. The A27 to the north of Hayling provides good links to the national motorway network, and a mainline station is located at Havant with a regular service to London Waterloo in about 1 hour 25 minutes. The cathedral city of Chichester lies some 16 miles to the east. Its historic pedestrianised centre provides extensive shopping facilities and other attractions including Pallant House Gallery, home to one of the most significant modern art collections on the south coast, and the internationally known Festival Theatre. The rich countryside of the South Downs National Park is the setting for many picturesque villages and country pubs, providing plenty of opportunities for walking, riding and mountain biking. Glorious Goodwood is already famous for its racecourse but also provides a country club, hotel and plays host to the annual Festival of Speed and the Revival of its historic motor circuit. The city of Portsmouth, some 14 miles to the west, has many attractions including an excellent range of shopping facilities, the historic Portsmouth Naval Dockyards, home to HMS Warrior and HMS Victory, and the excellent shopping and leisure facilities of Gun Wharf Quay. There are regular ferries to the Isle of Wight and cross-channel ferry services reaching France in around 5 hours.
